FAQs

1. How much does it cost to hire Julia Violinista?

Prices start from £425 but vary depending on; the type of event, date, location and the length of the booking. The best thing to do is to fill out the form on my Enquire page with the details of your event and I will come back to you as soon as I can with a tailored quote.

2. Do you require a deposit?

Yes. My fee is made up of a booking fee and a non-refundable deposit. I require an advance deposit of 50% of the total fee to secure the date. The remaining balance is payable no less than 8 weeks prior to the event.

3.How do I pay?

I ask for payment by BACs transfer. The details of which are on the agreement that is sent out upon acceptance of the booking.

4. Where are you based and how far do you travel?

I am based in Gloucestershire, UK, but travel up and down the country as well as internationally. Previous bookings include events in Italy, Spain, Sweden, Norway, France, Belgium and The Canary Islands.

5. How long can you play for?

I offer various different packages ranging from 45 minute sets to 4 hour background music bookings. Packages can be tailored to suit the requirements of the client. For weddings I offer performances for the ceremony, reception, wedding breakfast or a selection, up to a maximum of 4 hours.

6. What songs do you play, and do you take requests?

For a copy of my current repertoire list, please click here. I am open to looking into whether I can arrange and learn new songs but I do  ask that you give me time to look into it. Some songs may not work so well but I am always happy to have a listen!

7. Can we choose our music?

Yes! For weddings I send out a 'Music Choices' form for clients to fill in. This includes 1 Bridal entrance, 2 songs for the Signing of the Register and 1 Exit song. For wedding receptions I have set playlists that I work my way through as I like to judge the ambiance of each event and play music to suit the mood accordingly.

For Festivals, I have set playlists that are ready to go but I am always open to curating bespoke playlists on request.

All music can be chosen from my repertoire list here.

8. Can you perform with other musicians?

Yes! Although I love to perform my solo music, I love working with other musicians too. I am the founder and director of The Sorelli Ensemble -  a network of Violin & Cello duos with bases across the UK. We specialise in weddings and events and offer a wide range of music from Bach to Bohemian Rhapsody. For bookings and enquiries please click on the link above.

9. Do you provide your own PA/sound equipment?

Yes – I perform with my own Bose S1 Compact PA system for smaller, more intimate settings and for larger events I have a full PA system setup - the Devine PA system with mixer - with back wash lighting. For international bookings I require an AV company at the venue with sound engineer.

10. Are you able to perform outside?

I am happy to perform outside so long as the venue can provide a performance space that is sheltered as I cannot have my violin nor my electrical equipment in direct sunlight or rain. I also require a power socket nearby so that I can plug my PA and extension lead in.

11. How much space do you require?

I don't need a lot of space for my smaller set up but with my PA system set up I require around 2 x 2 metres

12. My venue requires Public Liability Insurance and PAT-testing. Are you covered?

Yes! I have Public Liability cover up to £1,000,000. All of my equipment is PAT-tested.

13. How long do you need to set up?

I usually aim to arrive 90 minutes before I am due to start performing. I use this time to set up any sound equipment and do a quick sound check.

14. Will you require refreshments?

Yes please! I ask for drinks to be provided while I am performing but I bring my own snacks and food with me to my events. I tend to interact a lot with the audience so breaks are usually kept busy with chatting!

15. Do you have a rider?

I don't have a rider, no, but I do ask for a private, lockable room at the venue so that I can safely leave my belongings there whilst i'm performing.
